A float switch is a device used to detect the level of liquid within a tank. The switch may be used in a pump, an indicator, an alarm, or other devices.
Float switches range from small to large and may be as simple as a mercury switch inside a hinged float or as complex as a series of optical or conductance sensors producing discrete outputs as the liquid reaches many different levels within the tank. Perhaps the most common type of float switch is simply a float raising a rod that actuates a microswitch.
A very common application is in sump pumps and condensate pumps where the switch detects the rising level of liquid in the sump or tank and energizes an electrical pump which then pumps liquid out until the level of the liquid has been substantially reduced, at which point the pump is switched off again. If the liquid continues to rise (perhaps because the pump has failed or its discharge is blocked), the second stage will be triggered. This stage may switch off the source of the liquid being pumped, trigger an alarm, or both.

dpstar RTDs  are temperature sensors that contain a resistor that changes resistance value as its temperature changes. They have been used for many years to measure temperature in laboratory and industrial processes, and have developed a reputation for accuracy, repeatability, and stability.
Most RTD elements consist of a length of fine coiled wire wrapped around a ceramic or glass core. The element is usually quite fragile, so it is often placed inside a sheathed probe to protect it. The RTD element is made from a pure material whose resistance at various temperatures has been documented. The material has a predictable change in resistance as the temperature changes; it is this predictable change that is used to determine temperature.
Resistance temperature detectors (RTD) accurately sense temperature with an excellent degree of repeatability and interchangeability of elements. The RTD is composed of certain metallic elements whose change in resistance is a function of temperature. In operation, a small excitation current is passed across the element, and the voltage, which is proportional to resistance, is then measured and converted to units of temperature calibration. The RTD element is manufactured by winding a wire (wire wound elements) or plating a film (thin film elements) on a ceramic or glass core and sealing the element within a ceramic or glass capsule.
Since most RTDs have a low initial resistance, often 100 ohms, and have a small change in resistance per unit of temperature range, the resistance of the lead wire is often compensated for with a three or four wire bridge configuration built into the measuring devices. By selecting the proper elements and protective sheathing, RTDs can operate in a temperature range of (-200 to 650) °C [-328 to 1202] °F.

dpstar is a sole agent of Backersafe Immersion Heaters are manufactured to the latest legislation of BSEN60335-2-73. Two specific clauses within this specification are aimed at eliminating the risk of boiling water. The most significant requirement is that the immersion heater be isolated from the mains supply should the primary thermostat fail with the contacts closed which would allow the water to reach a temperature in excess of 85 degrees centigrade.The ‘Backersafe’ Immersion heaters are manufactured in a full range of sheath material including copper, incoloy 800, incoloy 825 and titanium to suit the varying water conditions around the country.Through continuous investments in research and development, our engineering team is able to develop a pattern of constant innovation, in-line with our commitment towards achieving the finest.
